What is Classical Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of healing which stimulates the natural tendency of the body to heal itself by following the principle 'let like be cured by like'.
It is a person-centred approach, where symptoms are seen as a positive means of alerting us to a problem, whether or not this can be given a medical label/explanation.
Whenever we are ill, we experience symptoms in groups which manifest physically, mentally and emotionally.
We are used to doctors making a diagnosis after the symptoms common to a specific named disease have been identified, and prescribe
a given treatment for that particular disease. The superfluous symptoms to the general diagnosis are frequently set aside or referred to the appropriate specialist, often on a separate occasion.
A homeopath, however, pays greatest attention to those symptoms which are unusual and relate to the individual.
This means that two people with the same medical diagnosis will probably receive different homeopathic remedies, as a different group of symptoms will have been addressed for each of them. Likewise, a remedy can be of help when all medical test results show that you have made a full recovery,
yet 'you' are still not 'yourself'.
