Homeopathy
for Midwives
Homeopathy
for Midwives came about as a result of the birth of my
first child, when my homeopath was allowed to attend
as birth partner in hospital. The midwives were
curious as to what my homeopath was doing, and my
homeopath was flagging under the pressure of
cross-referencing remedy choices quickly in several
books while explaining what she was doing and
why. The idea to write a book which outlined the
homeopathic way of thinking and brought together key
information on common remedies often needed during
pregnancy, labour and puerperium sprang to mind.
My book, ‘Homeopathy for Midwives’ makes it easier
for anyone interested
in the uses of homeopathy during the birthing process
to find the information
they need. A brief outline about homeopathic
philosophy and prescribing is followed by a series of
tables, where key facts about remedies often used to
help a particular problem are compared and contrasted.
This allows the
reader to choose the most likely remedy quickly and
effectively. Further |
|
information
about the remedies appearing in the tables is given in the
final section of the
book as a back-up reference to confirm
a remedy choice.
Over the years, ‘Homeopathy for Midwives’ has become a
popular text book for student
midwives and nurse-midwives.
