Classical Homeopathy
Classical Homeopathy
is the name given to the fascinating complementary therapy
of homeopathy when it is practiced according to the original
principles of homeopathic philosophy as described by its
founder, Samuel Hahnemann (1755 – 1843). The homeopathic
system of healing is based on the view that ‘like cures
like’ when prescribed in the smallest dose necessary to
promote a healing response. Classical Homeopathy is a
complete system of medicine in itself and can be recognised
by the fact that only one homeopathic remedy will be used
to help a client at any given time.
When a case is being taken, the homeopathic practitioner
gathers detailed information mainly through observation and
questioning so that a single homeopathic remedy can be
chosen, tailored to the individual. This homeopathic remedy
will be repeated only when needed, so that the likelihood of
side-effects and dependency are negligible.
Uses of Homeopathy
The uses of homeopathy
are numerous, because it stimulates the body’s own healing
response. It is, however, not appropriate to use it as
a form of contraception, to replace the function of missing
organs or to kill parasites. In brief, homeopathy can
be of help at any time where symptoms do not warrant
emergency hospitalisation or surgery.
